Wicked Good News

Has it really been a month since my last post? Yikes! I promise that I haven't forsaken blogging...just have been very busy with work and some exciting new developments! John was accepted to graduate school, so we're in the midst of prepping our house to go on the market and planning a move north. We will be relocating to Boston and are wicked excited about it. (See that? I'm already morphing from a Washingtonian to a Bostonian.) I know you're probably saying, "Christine, am I missing something? Didn't you guys just buy that house?" And you are right. We've only been here for two years, and we love it more than anything. Especially in the early mornings when we catch the light doing lovely things like this...
Needless to say, it's going to be very difficult to say goodbye this house. But neither of us want to be long-distance landlords, and we're both pretty keen on the idea of down-sizing for a little bit. I'm looking forward to writing blog posts about decorating a rental apartment, New England style. And MAINE! We will be so close to Maine, a state that is endlessly inspiring to me.

I'm also looking forward to relocating my business to Boston and spending time at the Boston Design Center. Several weeks ago I took to trip to New York with my boss and she introduced me to the New York Design Center and the D&D building, as well as a few other favorite stores. Being in a new city is always such a shot of creative adrenaline...I can't wait!
My idea of a candy store: beautiful trims at Samuel & Sons and a sculpture at Holly Hunt spotted on a recent visit to NY.
In the meantime, we still have several months in DC and are trying to enjoy every moment. Quiet breakfasts at home, hikes at Great Falls, nagging our friends to hang out every chance they can, and perhaps finally taking advantage of all the Smithsonian museums. I'll also be hard at work the next few months wrapping up client projects and hopefully getting them photographed to share here! So stay tuned!
